In our Barefoot range we leave extra room for little toes
Getting the size right is sometimes harder than working out a square root in your head, so we want to help. And if you don't get it right first time, no worries: our exchanges are free.

Do the measurements work for every Barefoot model?
Bear in mind that the measurements are a guide. Depending on the model, the size may vary slightly, so some references might not match the table exactly.
Should you leave 1 cm extra when choosing the size?
We've already done that maths for you: the measurements include enough margin for the foot to sit correctly inside the shoe. For example: if your little one's foot measures between 11.5 and 12.1 cm, the recommended size is 19; if it measures between 12.8 and 13.4 cm, size 21. You just measure the foot, find the range in the table and voilà: there's the recommended size.
How often should you check or change the size?
Children grow very fast, and so do their feet. That's why it's worth checking footwear following this table:
| Child's age (years) | Recommended shoe change / check frequency |
| 0 - 1.5 | every 2 months |
| 1.5 - 2.5 | every 3 months |
| 2.5 - 4 | every 4 months |
| 4 - 6 | every 6 months |
| 7 - 9 | every 3 - 4 months |
| 10 - 20 | highly variable, every 4 - 6 months |
