Barefoot boots in pink and coral

This ankle boot has something to say. 'I'm not here to protect feet,' it says. 'I'm here to get out of the way so feet can do their job.' And it says it with a certain authority, because it's barefoot — wide last, thin sole, all the information from the ground reaching up with no unnecessary filters. The protective toe cap is the only concession: a bit of armour for the inevitable trips, of which there are some. The rest is minimal presence, maximum freedom.

The non-slip sole grips with no drama on surfaces that don't invite confidence, and the adjustable closure opens and closes in the time it takes a child to change their mind about where they're going. The breathable fabric keeps the inside in order without anyone having to step in, and the antibacterial insole is removable because sometimes you have to wash it without asking questions. Light, flexible and tough enough to outlast plenty of use.
